The LockedIn Promise: LockedIn is designed to be as private as possible. We do not track you, we do not sell your data, and we do not use any external servers.
Zero tracking
Local storage only
Open-source verified

1. Data Collection & Storage

LockedIn does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII). All extension data—including your selected toggle settings and your "Time Saved" statistics—is stored 100% locally on your device. This data never leaves your browser and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

2. Use of Permissions

  • YouTube Access: We only use permissions to access youtube.com to identify and hide distracting elements (like Shorts, the homepage feed, and comments) based on your settings.
  • Storage: We use local storage solely to remember your preferences so you don't have to reset them every time you open your browser.
  • Alarms: This is used locally to trigger the calculation of your productivity stats.

3. Third-Party Services

The extension may contain links to external platforms for donations (such as Buy Me a Coffee or PayPal). These are standard external web links. LockedIn does not process these payments and never has access to your financial details, credit card numbers, or billing address.

4. Open Source Transparency

LockedIn is 100% open-source. We believe in total transparency, and our code is available for public audit at any time to verify these privacy claims.

5. Changes to This Policy

If YouTube changes its layout and we need to adjust how we handle elements, we may update this policy. However, our core philosophy of zero data collection will remain the same.
